1. Vet them.
Find three clients of theirs that are happy.
One recent, one not so recent, and one that is from the first year they were in business.

2. Call them at 9pm on a Sunday and see how they answer the phone.

3. Ask them to spill the beans.
Will they tell you What, Why, How they will be doing the work? Or do they treat it like it is a trade secret?
